time. >> i want everybody who has gotten back into their home to know this isn't going to happen again because it was traumatic. >> reporter: the homeowners are seeking damages. and emotional suffering they endured. today the water district released a statement describing it as epic and historic. the statement said in part the water district works to reduce the risk of flooding through the creation of flood control projectors flange and working with city responders in charge of alerting the public. the city attorney is reviewing the claims the county didn't comment today. it is porn want to note the people in this area and people who filed the claim have received financial from the fund but they say it is not enough. >> we told you about the fires

solano county. crews are on scene . we are tracking two brush fires now. the first one is in solano county. crews on the scene trying to control that brush fire. threatening homes. from our nbc bay area sky ranger. burning near bella vista drive. this is suisun city.

another one in yolo county near the town of winters. roads near lake berryessa dam is also closed. 10% contained. no word on a cause and so far no evacuations. it is a good summer to be a fisherman, salmon, bass, and crab in abundance. we are seeing the best dungeness crab season in years. $67 million in crab along our coastline this year alone. almost twice last year's catch. thom jensen joins us. >> reporter: the season was closed down, at least, shortened last season several times.

without safety concerns this year, and favorable water conditions, the crabs were back in the water and the catch was on in a big way this season. a crackling beat that draws hundreds of patrons to the wharf annually. the season was court in 2016. and many fishermen were wondering and worrying. he depends on a healthy dungeness population to make a living. >> i needed it. but i have been commercial fishing since i was 15. >> crab rolls is our most important menu collection. this year the crab was abundant and beautiful and big guys. >> reporter: estimate california dungeness industry netted more than 21 million pounds of crab

this year. almost double 2016 take. great news for restaurants where the crab roll keeps the door open. >> that they are eating something local, and something that is a great protein source. >> reporter: all goals met this year. >> habitat protection is habitat restoration. it is keeping fresh water flowing into our area. and keeping all of that awesome snow melt that we are super, super fortunate to have in the sierras. >> reporter: and now the fishermen looking to the salmon. at least, indicators, the sport fishermen out in the ocean, they are saying a lot of them are filling their daily quotas every day and doing it early.

even with fog at the coastline, looks like it is not going to be strong enough to move into the south bay. sunny skies to start. and do expect the low clouds back into san francisco as we begin tomorrow morning at 55 degrees. as we head throughout your micro climate forecast, on friday expect above normal temperatures. 93 in san jose. 96 in morgue began hill. 79 in oakland. this is where all the heat gets trapped. 99 in antioch. 100 in concord. it is in this area right here where fire dangerous is the highest.
